EPSIS | Electric Vehicle World Bulletin – January 2026

Epsis January 2026 Bulletin: Discover Turkey's record of 373 thousand electric vehicles, Plug & Charge technology, and the latest developments in our 800V ultra-fast charging infrastructure.

Dear E-Mobility Stakeholders and Followers,

We closed the year 2025 with historic records in the Turkish automotive market. With the number of electric vehicles on the roads exceeding 373 thousand, the "transition period" is over; a fully electric lifestyle has become the norm. As Epsis, we are entering 2026 with the goal of making our infrastructure smarter, faster, and more integrated.

In this issue, we discuss the game-changing technologies and new regulations of 2026.

The Pulse of the Industry: 2026 Expectations

  • 373 Thousand and Beyond: The electric vehicle fleet across Turkey has set a new record. By the end of 2026, this number is expected to approach half a million. Now, it's not about range anymore, but "charging comfort."

  • Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV): In the 2026 models, software updates (OTA) take precedence over mechanical features. Your vehicle is now a continuously updated digital device rather than just a means of transportation.

  • Solid-State Battery Threshold: The first concrete steps from laboratories to the roads are being taken this year. Field tests of prototype vehicles aiming for a range of 1000 km are one of the biggest excitements of 2026.

  • V2G Becomes a Strategic Power: Energy transfer from vehicles to the grid (Vehicle-to-Grid) is transforming from a cost item, especially for corporate fleets, into a business model that generates energy sales revenue.

Technology Focus: "Plug and Charge"

The year 2026 marks the end of dealing with complex mobile applications and cards. Thanks to the "Plug and Charge" technology compliant with ISO 15118 standards, the authentication and payment processes are automatically completed as soon as you plug the charging cable into your vehicle. As Epsis, we have accelerated our efforts to popularize this technology throughout our network.

Regulatory Corner: The Era of Transparency Begins

With the new regulation coming into force in April 2026, all charging station data (location, occupancy, current price) will be required to be presented in a common format. This means a much more transparent and competitive market for users. As Epsis, we have already begun to present this data to our users in the clearest way possible.

News from Epsis

  • 800V Infrastructure Investment: We have doubled the number of our ultra-fast (UFC) stations to allow the new generation vehicles to charge in under 15 minutes.

  • Smart Integration in Home Charging: Our new Epsis home chargers are now fully integrated with smart home systems. The system automatically selects the hours when electricity is cheapest.

  • E-Mobility Report 2026: Our report titled "Turkey Charging Ecosystem" prepared by Epsis experts is now published! You can download it from our website.

The future is on the roads today. Keep following us for weekly updates and more.
